Weddings
Our philosophy is to make your dream a reality and for it to come true. We make it reality, by taking the time to plan every precious moment of your day. Our focus is to capture the little details that make your day special.
Some of the things you should be asking a photographer: Who will be the photographer at my wedding? Some studios show you work of photographers that are not with them anymore or only work in certain locations. Make sure that you are looking at the work of a specific person. Make sure that the sales person is the point of contact for all your concerns and needs at the studio.
Is there a difference in the type of equipment that is used? Yes there is. Medium format equipment has negatives that are roughly 3 times as large as 35mm film. This captures images that can be enlarged for your wall and those negatives usually have better color saturation, are sharper and less grainy for enlargements. Photographers using 35mm equipment can capture the photo-journalistic style images easier than medium format. With today’s film and equipment, both of these formats produce outstanding images from your wedding day for your album.
Is digital equipment inferior to the film format? Should I be afraid of it? With today’s hi resolution cameras, digital is every bit as good as film for general work. Comparing the situation of wedding photography with the variables in lighting and background situations, an experienced photographer will produce excellent results. Ask for digital candid samples of enlargements at the studio.
What price range should I be looking for in selecting a photographer? I'm asked this question a lot and let me ask the question; "How can you put a price on preserving the memories of your wedding day?" As I watch my children grow, how do I decide whether to capture those special moments with them on film or not? They will never be that age again and there will never be another first crawl or first step, or a first graduation. Likewise, your wedding is just as special, and an endearing moment. How many times will you walk to the altar? How many times will there be so much joy in your parent’s eyes that their little girl is grown up? How many times will a tear fall from your father's face as he dances with you on your wedding day?...OK, the real answer, your photography budget should be in the neighborhood of 1/3 of your entire wedding budget. A good photographer with talent and integrity will be between $2,000 and $5,000. However, there are certainly people who will offer you this service for much less. (Be wary, you get what you pay for in this business). Remember, as a rule of thumb, price is related to service and quality of work.
Traditional or Photo-journalistic?
Seeing the results of the planning come together in a short time at the house before the ceremony causes many a tear to fall as "daddy's little girl" is now ready to find her Knight.
We combine two different wedding styles. Traditional Coverage and the Photo-journalistic, and still keep everything natural. The Traditional style includes all of the wedding images you have come to expect in a traditional wedding album, including portraits of the Bride & Groom, attendants, family as well as the traditional happenings at your wedding. The Photo-journalistic style is a more storytelling style of wedding photography. It includes un-posed, spontaneous photographs during the wedding day. "I want to document the events of a wedding, to capture with a natural and real feeling to the images". Unlike most photographers, we have a combination of the two styles. |
